The world is made up of 70% water; 3% of that water is fresh water and only 1% of that fresh water is accessible by ground or surface.  As the world population reaches over 6 Billion, the levels of pollution affecting fresh water sources has also increased with it.  The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stated, “Day after day, we pour millions of tons of untreated sewage and industrial and agricultural waste into the world’s water systems. Clean water has become scarce and will become even scarcer with the onset of climate change”.  He also stated “more people die from unsafe water than from all forms of violence, including war”.

Water is the essence of life, without water there is no life; therefore something so essential such as clean water should be at the forefront of every home. However most will rely on their city to provide them with clean water.

Alternative means to accessing pure water is necessary in order to ensure you have clean, pure water. Water filtration systems are your primary means of defence against the battle for clean water.
